Beneath the Northern Stars

On 2 July 2026, if all goes to plan, I will release my newest album.

This project has been my companion since January. What began as a few scattered lyrics slowly grew into seventeen songs, each carrying a piece of my heart.

Some of the songs are inspired by Nordic folklore—the old stories whispered around fires, the legends carried by the wind across mountains and forests, the mysteries that live between the seen and unseen worlds.

Others were born from my lifelong love of The Legend of the Ice People by Margit Sandemo, a book series that has walked beside me for many years. Its characters, magic, courage, heartbreak, and hope have inspired countless hours of dreaming, writing, and imagining.

The album cover holds a special meaning for me.

The drum in the image is my own drum, handcrafted many years ago by an old Viking shaman who visited Gran Canaria while my family lived there. He created it specifically for my energy and my birth chart. Painted upon it are symbols connected to my astrological path, and around its edge are runes carrying my favourite words from Carl Jung:

“Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakes.”

That quote has guided much of my life.

Through astrology, music, writing, folklore, and spiritual exploration, I have spent many years looking both outward and inward. This album is the meeting place between those worlds.

The songs were written during a time of challenges, growth, reflection, and creativity. Some arrived quickly, almost as if they already existed somewhere beyond me. Others took weeks of rewriting and reshaping before they found their final form.

Together, they tell stories of love, courage, destiny, ancient magic, and the enduring strength of the human spirit.

As release day approaches, I find myself feeling both excited and grateful.

Grateful for the stories.

Grateful for the music.

Grateful for everyone who has encouraged my creative journey.

And grateful that these seventeen songs are finally ready to spread their wings.

May they carry a little magic into your world.

Love,

Maggie
