Sunday Whirl — #762
A wave rolled in from nowhere,
its dark crest turning beneath a bruised sky.
The sea whispered something unholy,
a secret carried on salt and wind,
brushing cold against my lips.
Once, I walked with swagger,
certain I knew every path.
Then life took a twist,
sharp as a hidden blade.
I stood among the lost,
among the almost-dead dreams,
watching shadows gather
at the edges of hope.
Yet even there—
where grief prepared its feast,
where silence seemed endless—
something refused to surrender.
Like the tide returning,
like dawn after the longest night,
I rise.
