Earthquake
FOWC – 20.06.2026
When we hear the word earthquake, we often think of the ground shaking beneath our feet.
But life has its own earthquakes.
A phone call that changes everything.
A diagnosis.
A loss.
A moment when the future you imagined suddenly cracks apart.
I’ve learned that not all earthquakes happen in the earth.
Some happen in the heart.
Some happen in families.
Some happen quietly, behind hospital doors and sleepless nights.
In those moments, it feels as though the ground has disappeared. The familiar landmarks are gone. The plans you carefully built crumble into uncertainty.
You ask questions that have no easy answers.
You wonder how much more you can carry.
You take one breath.
Then another.
And somehow, despite the aftershocks, you keep moving forward.
That is the thing about earthquakes.
They break things.
But they also reveal strength you didn’t know you possessed.
The landscape changes.
The person you were changes.
Yet life continues.
Slowly.
Carefully.
One step at a time.
And eventually, among the cracks, something new begins to grow.
Perhaps that is the lesson.
We cannot stop every earthquake.
But we can learn how to rebuild.
With courage.
With hope.
With love.
