Doppler

Doppler—

a small device

holding big moments.

Not the rush

of passing sirens,

but the steady rhythm

hidden beneath the skin.

A heartbeat

found in the darkness

before a face is ever seen.

A tiny drum

announcing,

I am here.

Or the gentle whoosh

of blood

moving faithfully

through its winding roads,

carrying life

from one place

to another.

Sometimes

the most important sounds

are not loud.

They arrive

through static,

gel,

and patient listening.

A reminder

that beneath worry,

beneath waiting,

beneath all we cannot see,

life continues

its quiet song.

And for one brief moment,

hope becomes audible.
