Just Rojie – Day 18
How did your parents meet?
My mother moved from Norway to England to work as an au pair/nanny when she was young.
While living in London, she met a Greek man — my father.
And apparently, when you know, you know.
Because only eight weeks after they met, they travelled to Norway so my father could ask for my mother’s hand in marriage.
Back then, things were a little different. Since my mother was under 21, she actually needed permission to marry.
Afterwards, they returned to England, where they started their life together.
And then, about 18 months later, I arrived.
I spent the first five years of my life in the UK, before life later carried us to Norway.
Looking back, it feels a little like one of those old-fashioned love stories — Norway, Greece, London, young love, big decisions, and somehow the beginning of my own story too
Funny how one meeting in the right city can shape an entire future.
