What’s the strangest thing you’ve overheard in public?
Probably the rumours about my own wedding. 😬😂
When my husband and I got married, neither of us wanted a church wedding. Instead, we chose something that felt much more us.
We got married outdoors by the beautiful Norwegian fjords and mountains, in one of our favourite places outside our municipality. We only invited close family, keeping it intimate and meaningful.
And yes — I was a crown bride, wearing a traditional West Coast Norwegian bunad, which probably added extra fuel to the local gossip machine.
Then one day, while in the local shop, I overheard women gossiping about us.
Apparently, according to them, we had gone to another municipality because we weren’t allowed to marry in church.
Well…
I politely walked over and told them they might want to get their facts straight.
The silence afterwards?
Almost impressive. 😂😬
Turns out gossip gets very quiet when the main character suddenly joins the conversation.
