PROMPT #434 The prompt number this week is a mirror number, and it made me think of a split mirror where each side asks, “Who made you? ”So, here we go with our prompt for the week.

This is a space to rant as much as you like this week. Or contemplate the future we are heading towards with almost inhuman speed. Maybe you reminisce about a past that lives inside you, but may not exist in the outer world.
Reena’s Xploration Challenge #434

Who Made You?
“Verify you are human.”
I pause.
Not because I cannot solve the CAPTCHA, but because suddenly the question feels larger than bicycles.
Human.
What does that even mean now?
I tick the boxes.
Select all images with bicycles. Confirm I am not a robot.
Meanwhile, somewhere else, an algorithm studies words, images, music—looking for fingerprints of machine.
AI-GENERATED. Probability: 97%.
Exercise caution.
The irony almost laughs at itself.
A machine made the image warning me about machines making images.
And there I sit—human, tired, caffeinated, wondering if authenticity now comes with percentages.
Once, we feared machines replacing labour.
Now we fear them replacing imagination.
Yet here is the uncomfortable truth:
The brush was never the artist.
The typewriter was never the novelist.
The piano was never the composer.
A tool can shape expression, but it cannot ache.
It cannot remember childhood photographs or sit beside illness wondering how tomorrow will arrive.
Perhaps the real question is not:
Who made this?
But:
Who felt this?
And maybe, somewhere beyond the horizon, someone—or something—is having the last laugh.
Because humanity has always feared mirrors.
Especially the ones that begin reflecting back.
