Novels

Novels—
doorways disguised
as paper.

Lives waiting
between covers,
quietly asking,
Will you come with me?

I have travelled
without moving—

through snow-covered kingdoms,
haunted hallways,
love stories 
that ached like memory,
and worlds
where magic
felt more honest than reality.

Some novels
become companions.

Their pages worn,
corners softened
by hands
returning 
again and again for comfort.

Characters linger
like old friends—

the brave ones,
the broken ones,
the souls 
who somehow
teach us something 
about ourselves.

Maybe that is
the secret
of novels—

they remind us that life 
is never just 
one story.

There are chapters
of grief,
wonder,
healing,
love,
and becoming.

And somewhere
between the first page and the last,

we discover
that we too
are still
being written.
