The Alley of Voices
She almost missed the bell overhead.
Most people hurried through the alley, eyes on phones, footsteps fixed on elsewhere. But the murals stopped her—faces painted over old brick, fragments of forgotten dreams stretched across the walls.
She walked slower.
The city had hidden its memories here.
A cracked eye stared from the red wall as if waiting to be noticed. A painted figure reached forever toward someone long gone.
Above her, the bell shifted softly in the wind.
Not ringing.
Listening.
With love, coffee, poetry, and stardust,
