Kindness

Kindness—
the quiet language the soul understands without translation.

Not always grand gestures.
Not always seen.

Sometimes
it is simply someone staying when life feels heavy.
A warm hand
placed softly over shaking ones.
A message that says,“I thought of you today.

”Kindness lives in ordinary places—
in doors held open,
in patience offered,
in strangers
who smile
without knowing the storm
someone else survived just to make it there.

I have learned that kindness
does not erase pain.
But it softens
its sharpest edges.
A small light
left on 
in the window
of the world.
And perhaps
the kindest hearts
are not those who have never broken—but those
who remember 
what it felt like to fall,
and choose 
to become
gentle places 
for others to land.
