The Way Through
The old arch had forgotten what it was built to protect.
Time had loosened the stones, ivy had claimed the edges, and sunlight wandered through without asking permission.
Still—the path remained.
People passed by without noticing, calling it ruin, calling it old.
But some doorways stop being walls the moment they are broken.
I stood there longer than expected, wondering how many lives had crossed beneath this curve of stone—lovers, wanderers, people leaving, people returning.
The earth remembers footsteps long after names are gone.
So I walked through slowly, as if entering something sacred.
Not every threshold asks you to arrive somewhere new.
Some simply ask:
Who are you now, after everything?
