PROMPT WORD: INTEREST

It’s Thursday’s Six Sentence Story Blog Hop

Interest
She used to think interest meant curiosity, something light that drifted in and out like passing weather.
But some things held you longer, quietly weaving themselves beneath the surface before you even noticed.
A glance became a question, a question became a need to understand what refused to let go.
Soon, she found herself gathering fragments, chasing meaning in places others had long stopped looking.
What began as passing interest had become something deeper — devotion to truth, however uncomfortable it might be.
And somewhere along the way, she realized the story had started studying her too.
