Monday Poetry Prompt: Is and Isn’t
Justice Is / Justice Is Not ⚖️
Justice is the question that refuses to go quiet.
Justice is a candle still burning after midnight,
when others have gone home.
Justice is truth
standing barefoot in broken glass,
yet refusing to kneel.
Justice is asking again—
when answers arrive wearing masks.
Justice is remembering
names,dates,
silences, the spaces where evidence should have spoken.
Justice is not convenience.
Justice is not headlines
that fade with tomorrow’s weather.
Justice is not power
deciding who matters.
Justice is not silence
dressed up as peace.
Justice is not forgetting.
Justice is the voice
that rises
anyway—
soft perhaps,
wounded perhaps,
but still saying:
Evidence matters.
Open it.
