Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge Expressive.
“There’s a voice in all of us, and you can only get expressive through words. There’s a limit to what you can do without speaking.” — Jason Statham
Expressive.
Not every voice is loud.
Some arrive in whispers.
In poems scribbled at midnight.
In songs hummed to the stars.
In tears that speak before words ever can.
Expressive.
Such a beautiful word.
To express is to release something from within —
a thought,
a feeling,
a truth too heavy to remain hidden.
Some people speak with confidence.
Others…
through art.
Through music.
Through silence wrapped carefully around meaning.
I think words have always been bridges.
Between hearts.
Between wounds.
Between what we survive and what we become.
Sometimes the things we struggle most to say aloud find their way into poetry instead.
Or stories.
Or melodies.
And perhaps that is why expression matters.
Because keeping everything locked inside
turns emotion into stone.
But expression?
Expression breathes.
It moves.
It transforms.
So today, I honour every kind of voice —
the spoken ones,
the written ones,
the trembling ones still learning to be heard.
Because somewhere inside all of us…
there is something longing to be expressed.
