Gadfly

I had to look up the word.

Gadfly.

A bother. A challenger. The one asking uncomfortable questions when everyone else would rather stay quiet.

Funny thing—

history rarely changes because of silence.

Sometimes the gadfly is the necessary voice.

The soul that refuses to stop asking:

Why?

Who benefits?

What are we pretending not to see?

Yes— they can irritate.

Stir the room. Unsettle certainty.

But truth rarely arrives without friction.

Maybe every age needs a gadfly.

Someone willing to buzz loudly around comfortable lies.

Someone brave enough to ask questions others are afraid to speak aloud.

Not to destroy—

but to awaken.

And perhaps being misunderstood is sometimes the cost of caring deeply enough to challenge what feels wrong.
