The mirror blurred as steam curled through the room, softening every sharp edge she had carried into the day.

Some wounds never disappeared — they only changed shape when viewed through gentler light.

Outside, the world still moved too quickly, demanding answers she didn’t yet have.

But here, wrapped in warmth and silence, she allowed herself to stop pretending she was untouched.

Healing, she realized, didn’t always arrive like lightning.

Sometimes it rose quietly, like steam — invisible at first, until suddenly everything looked different.
