💫Daily Prompt  Word Press

What’s a moment that made you realize you were stronger than you thought?

There have been many moments in my life — from being a very young girl up until now.

And honestly…

I have cursed some of the transformations while going through them.

Strength rarely arrives wrapped in something beautiful.

Sometimes it comes through heartbreak, loss, fear, or simply having no other choice.

One of the biggest moments came after my husband’s accident three years ago.

My whole world fell apart with a bang.

Suddenly, life changed overnight.

I went from being a wife and mother to becoming a full-time caregiver.

He will never walk again.

And while I was falling apart inside, I still had to stand strong for my teenage daughters.

The last three years have been — and still are — my strong phase.

But here is something I have learned:

Being strong does not mean never breaking.

It does not mean pretending everything is okay.

Sometimes strength looks like crying in private, getting up anyway, and saying:

“Today is not such a good day.”

And that is okay.

We need to stop treating emotions like weakness or something that must immediately be labeled as illness.

Sometimes people are simply carrying heavy things.

Sometimes we need space to fall apart, to feel, to grieve, and then slowly gather ourselves again.

Strength is not perfection.

Sometimes strength is simply surviving what life placed in front of you — one day at a time.

With love
