Between the Waters

Some cities rush.
Cars. Crowds. Horns. Hurry.
But this place feels as if time forgot to keep moving.
Water instead of roads. Reflections instead of noise. A house standing patiently between two quiet currents, as though it has learned thesecret of stillness.
I imagine what it must feel like to live there — to wake up and hear water lapping against stone instead of engines, to watch shadows drift across the canals like old memories passing by.
Perhaps that is why I feel drawn to places like this.
They remind me that life does not always have to move fast to move deeply.
Sometimes the soul needs a city built on water to remember how to float.
