Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “sweet.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
Sweet

Sweet.
Such a simple word, yet somehow it carries entire lifetimes inside it.
Sweet can be sugar in coffee, warm cinnamon rolls fresh from the oven,or that first bite of something that tastes like childhood.
But sweet is not always food.
Sometimes sweet is a moment.
A message arriving exactly when it’s needed.
A quiet hand on your shoulder.
A memory that returns softly instead of hurting.
Sweet can be laughter in the kitchen, the kind that echoes long after the moment is gone.
It can be daughters growing older while somehow still carrying little pieces of the children they once were.
Sweet is strange like that.
It doesn’t shout.
It lingers.
Like perfume in the air after someone leaves,or sunlight warming a room long after morning has passed.
And maybe the sweetest things in life are rarely the grand ones.
Maybe sweetness lives in ordinary places—
in kindness,
in remembering,
in still choosing softness
in a world that can be hard.
Because sweet is not weakness.
Sweet is love that stayed gentle.

With love
