PROMPT #430
Reena’s Xploration Challenge | RXC
PROMPT #430 This week, let us wrap our heads around the word ELUSIVE Is that you? Is it a person, image, concept, value, dream or something else? Let the wistfulness peep out unapologeticay.
There is no restriction on the length of the piece.
Elusive

Some things are not meant to be caught.
They appear briefly—like moonlight on water, like a dream remembered only by feeling, like a name sitting at the edge of memory refusing to fully arrive.
Elusive.
I have chased many things in my life—answers, certainty, belonging,
versions of myself I thought I had lost.
But the more tightly I reached, the further they drifted.
Some truths only approach when we stop hunting them.
Perhaps that is why the most elusive things
are also the most beautiful.
Peace.
Meaning.
Love
untouched by fear.
Even time itself feels elusive
now—slipping quietly between moments while we are busy looking elsewhere.
There are days I think elusive is not absence at all.
Maybe it is invitation.
A soft pull toward mystery.
A reminder that not everything sacred wants to be pinned down, explained, or possessed.
Some things ask only to be witnessed.
Like stars that disappear at dawn yet remain exactly where they were.
Like intuition.
Like healing.
Like becoming.
And perhaps…like the truest parts of ourselves.
