Word of the Day 12 May 2026
In response to Alice DeForest word prompt: https://wp.me/s9Zf6z-tweet
Tweet

A tiny word for such a small sound.
A quick note from the branches. A burst of song before sunrise. A whisper between feathers and sky.
Birds tweet without overthinking.
No filters. No performance. No algorithms.
Just instinct. Presence. Communication.
And perhaps that is why birdsong feels honest.
Long before humans turned “tweet” into technology, the word belonged to nature.
To sparrows on rooftops. Canaries greeting morning light. Blackbirds singing after rain.
Tiny sounds that remind us the world is still alive
But now, tweet also belongs to the digital age.
Fast thoughts. Short messages. Voices sent across invisible skies.
Some tweets bring laughter. Some create storms. Some disappear as quickly as they arrived.
Funny, really— how humanity borrowed a word meant for birdsong and filled it with noise.
Maybe the real lesson is hidden in the original meaning.
Not every sound needs to shout.
Sometimes the softest voices carry the deepest truth.
A single bird at dawn can change the feeling of an entire morning.

With love
