Flip Flop

Flip flop.
The sound of summer footsteps.
Simple footwear, sun-warmed pavements, sand between your toes, salt drying on skin after the sea.
Here in the Canary Islands, flip flops are not just holiday shoes.
They are everyday life.
Quick trips to the shop. Beach mornings. Dusty roads. Balconies filled with flowerpots and ocean air.
You hear them everywhere— that familiar flip flop rhythm echoing through warm streets all year round.
But the phrase also carries another meaning.
To flip flop— to change direction, change opinions, move back and forth between decisions.
And honestly? Humans do that too.
We hesitate. Rethink. Doubt ourselves. Try one path, then another.
Life is rarely a straight line.
Even waves change direction with the tide
Perhaps there is wisdom in learning to stay flexible.
To adapt. To shift. To understand that changing your mind does not always mean weakness.
Sometimes it simply means you are still learning who you are.
Still growing. Still walking through life— one soft, sunlit flip flop step at a time.

With love
