Remission

Word of the Day Challenge 07.05.2026

In response to Alice DeForest word prompt: https://wp.me/p9Zf6z-2wK

Remission

Remission
is not the same
as gone.

It means something
has quieted.
Paused.
Withdrawn
from the surface.

But absence
is not always resolution.

Some things return.
Some things linger quietly
beneath the silence.

And sometimes
what hurts most
is not the storm—

but the waiting
between answers.

The not knowing.
The unfinished feeling.
The sense of
standing still
while time keeps moving.

Remission can bring relief.

But it can also bring uncertainty.

Because peace
without truth
does not always feel like peace.

Relatable! 👍 I enjoyed reading this from the start to the finish! You’re right that peace without truth doesn’t always feel like peace. Standing still while time keeps moving and not knowing the answer is what hurts the most.
