What Stands

The homes are built from earth.

Not separate from it, not above it — but shaped from the same ground that feeds, holds, and remembers. Walls that breathe with the seasons. Roofs that listen to the rain. Nothing here is accidental.

I think about how we define progress.

Concrete. Steel. Glass reaching higher and higher, as if distance from the earth means something better. And yet here, everything feels anchored. Intentional. Enough.

There is a kind of wisdom in building with what is already there

In knowing your environment not as something to conquer, but something to live with. The landis not background — it is part of the home, part of the story, part of survival itself.

We often look at places like this and see simplicity.

But simplicity is not lack.

It is understanding what is needed…and honoring it.

These homes stand not because they resist the world, but because they belong to it.

This just stands as a reminder that simplicity is not a bad thing.
