Twinkle

Twinkle, twinkle, little star, was one of the first songs I ever learned on the piano.

There is something comforting in looking up and knowing the light is still there.

Even when we can’t always see it clearly.

This April, I learned something new about taking care of myself.

My youngest daughter showed me a skin routine, simple but intentional.

I’ve never been one to spend much on skincare, but I realized it’s not about cost.

It’s about care.

When there is too much negativity around me, I feel it deeply.

So I do what I have always done.

I step away, retreat into my shell, and let music hold me together.

It may be an old coping mechanism, but it still works.

Like a distant star, quietly twinkling, reminding me I’ll find my way back to light.

With love

Sometimes the old coping mechanisms work best for us. I wish I was as good at taking care of my skin as my daughter is — you’re right that it’s about time and care instead of cost.
