In response to Ragtag Daily Prompt: https://wp.me/p9YcOU-6ks

She laughs
like nothing is heavy.
Like the world
has never pressed
too hard
against her shoulders.
Happy-go-lucky—
they call her.
As if joy
is something simple.
As if lightness
means a life untouched.
But what they don’t see…
is the choice.
To smile anyway.
To soften the edges
of days
that could have been sharper.
To carry light
not because life is easy—but because she refuses
to let it harden her.
There is strength
in that kind of ease.
In walking forward
without dragging
every weight
behind you.
In letting moments
be moments—
not burdens.
Happy-go-lucky
is not careless.
It is courageous.
A quiet rebellion
against heaviness.
A decision
to meet life
with open hands
instead of closed fists.
And maybe
that is the real magic—
not that nothing hurts…
but that something inside
chooses
to shine anyway.
