Holding Space
It felt huge, this silence between us—too serious to laugh away, too hard to name.
We stood like strangers, though once we knew how to try, how to be more than just passing colleague hearts sharing borrowed space.
You said you needed to be alone, as if distance could soften what made us tremble.
I didn’t force an answer. Didn’t chase the words. Some truths arrive quietly, carried on the edge of fear.
And yet—I remember our laughter, how it once filled every corner until nothing felt empty.
Maybe love isn’t always about holding on.
Maybe it’s the proper courage to stand still in the moment, and let someone leave without losing yourself.
