In response to Di’s Daily Prompt: https://wp.me/p3RSgb-wt9

There are moments that don’t sit right.
They press against the heart—
quietly, persistently—like something unresolved refusing to be forgotten.
Call it instinct.
Call it instep—
that inner place
where the body knows before the mind can make sense of it.
Because injustice
doesn’t always shout.
Sometimes
it lingers.
In unanswered questions.
In silences
that feel too heavy.
In details that don’t quite align with the story being told.
And somewhere in all of it—
there is injury.
Not only to the body—but to truth itself.
To trust.
To the people left behind trying to understand what cannot be easily explained.
Grief carries enough weight on its own.
It shouldn’t have to carry uncertainty too.
So we stand here—
not with accusations,
not with conclusions—but with something just as powerful
attention.
Witness.
The refusal
to look away.
Because truth
does not fear questions.
And justice—
real justice—
is not threatened
by light.
As the days move closer
to what comes next,
there is only one thing that matters
that every voice is heard,
every detail is seen,
and nothing that matters is overlooked.
Not now.Not ever.
