She Who Breathes Fire
They came for a show.
Laughter in their hands. Drinks half-finished. Eyes waiting to be entertained.
They did not come for truth.
But truth has a way of slipping through flames.
She stood in the center, steady as dusk, the world dimming around her. In one hand, the torch. In the other, the quiet weight of everything she had swallowed for too long.
Words she never said.Anger she folded into silence.Grief she carried like an invisible scar.
They thought it was skill.
It was more than that.
She tilted her head back.
For a moment—just one—the world held its breath.
And then—
fire.
It roared from her like something ancient remembering itself. Not destruction, but release. Not chaos, but voice.
The flame rose higher than fear, brighter than expectation. It painted the night in gold and heat and something dangerously close to freedom.
The crowd gasped.
Of course they did.
They saw spectacle.
They did not see the years it took to learn how to hold fire without being consumed by it.
They did not see how she had burned quietly before this moment—burned in rooms where she was unheard, unseen, underestimated.
Now she chose when to burn.
The flame faded.
Smoke curled like a secret returning to the sky.
She lowered the torch.
Unshaken.
Unapologetic.
And somewhere deep inside her, something whispered—
This is what it means to take your power back.
