Tonic
Not all medicine
comes in bottles.
Some arrives
as a moment—
unexpected,
unplanned—
yet exactly
what the soul needed.
A tonic
can be laughter
that loosens something tight
inside your chest.
It can be silence,
deep and honest,
where your thoughts
finally settle.
It can be music—
a voice,
a melody—
that reaches places
words cannot.
Sometimes
a tonic
is simply presence.
Someone who sees you
without asking you
to explain.
Or even…
yourself—
choosing to sit,
to breathe,
to stay
instead of running.
We search
for cures
outside ourselves.
But often,
the real tonic
is already here—
woven into the small,
the quiet,
the overlooked.
A sip of light.
A moment of peace.
Enough
to begin again 💜.
