My completely unreliable definitions:
- What is a skiff?
A boat that insists it’s just popping out for a minute and returns three hours later. - What is a liner?
Someone who stands in queues professionally and judges everyone else’s patience. - What is a ferry?
A boat that listens to everyone’s life stories whether it wants to or not. - What is a destroyer?
A ship that arrives dramatically and rearranges everything without asking. - What is a cruiser?
Someone who says “let’s take it easy” and then never stops moving. - What is a galleon?
An old ship full of treasure… and at least one ghost with opinions. - What is a pedlow?
A floating argument about whose turn it is to pedal. - What is a kayak?
A very personal boat that expects you to do all the work yourself. - What is a schooner?
A boat that thinks it’s fancy and insists on good manners at sea. - What is a coracle?
A tiny round boat that looks like it wasn’t entirely sure what it wanted to be.
