How has technology changed your job?

In the traditional sense,
I haven’t worked for many years.
Life shifted in 1998,
when I went onto disability pension—
and the path I once thought I would walk
changed direction.
The last time I had a paid job
was in 2009,
working one day a week
in a small herbal shop.
Not for money, really—
but for connection.
To be around people,
to share space,
to step outside the rhythm
of home and family life.
But technology…
it found me anyway.
In a different way.
It gave me a voice
beyond physical limits.
A place to write,
to create,
to connect with souls
I may never have met otherwise.
Through a screen,
I found community.
Through words,
I found purpose again.
So maybe technology
didn’t change my “job”…
It helped me redefine
what work means.
Not something measured
by hours or wages—
but by presence,
expression,
and the quiet impact
of being seen and heard.
