Regarded

To be regarded…
is to be seen.

Not just looked at—
but noticed.

There is a difference.

We move through a world
where eyes pass over us
every day.
Faces blur.
Moments dissolve.

But to be regarded
is something deeper.

It is presence
meeting presence.

It is someone pausing—
long enough
to recognize
that you are there.

That you matter.

To be regarded
is not about judgment,
though it often carries that weight.

We fear being regarded
for the wrong reasons.
Misunderstood.
Reduced.
Seen only in fragments.

But true regard…
does not divide.

It holds.

It allows complexity.
It allows contradiction.
It allows you
to exist fully
without being simplified.

And perhaps
the deeper question is not—

Who regards us?

But—

How do we regard ourselves?

Do we look inward
with the same presence
we seek from others?

Do we truly see
who we are—
beyond roles,
beyond expectations,
beyond the stories
we have been told to carry?

Because when we begin
to regard ourselves
with honesty,
with compassion,
with clarity—

the need
to be seen elsewhere
softens.

Not disappears…
but transforms.

To be regarded
is a quiet kind of connection.

A recognition
that says—

I see you.
I acknowledge you.
You are not invisible here.

And sometimes…
the most powerful moment
is when that voice
comes from within.
