Not everything that shines
needs to be gold.
There is a softer glow—
muted, weathered,
holding stories in its surface.
Pewter.
A metal that does not demand attention,
yet carries the weight of time.
Handled by hands long gone,
set upon tables where lives unfolded—
laughter, loss, love… all reflected faintly
in its silvery skin.
I think of pewter as memory.
Not bright like fresh beginnings,
but steady—
like something that has endured.
There is beauty in that.
In not needing to sparkle,
in not needing to prove.
Just being.
Just holding.
Just remembering.
Maybe we are a little like pewter too—
shaped by time,
softened by life,
yet still here…
still carrying light
in our own quiet way 💜
