Sensibility

True Sensibility is quiet.
It listens before speaking,
feels the tremble beneath another’s words.
It knows storms hide inside ordinary days
and that kindness can steady them.

I once thought strength meant armor,
a polished shield against the world.
Now I know strength is softer:
the courage to remain open,
to notice the small griefs people carry
like invisible stones in their pockets,
and to answer gently.
