Today’s Word: Lazy Bones
In response to Alice DeForest word prompt:

Lazy Bones
“Lazy bones” is usually said with a smile—
a playful nudge
to someone who would rather rest
than rush.
But perhaps laziness
is sometimes misunderstood.
The world praises constant motion.
Work harder.
Wake earlier.
Do more.
Yet the body and mind
were never meant
to run without pause.
Rest is not failure.
Stillness is not weakness.
A lazy afternoon
can restore more
than a busy day ever could.
Sometimes the wisest thing
a person can do
is nothing at all—
stretch out,
breathe deeply,
and allow the moment
to exist without urgency.
Maybe “lazy bones”
is simply a reminder
that life is not only about movement.
Sometimes
the soul needs a hammock.
