In response to Di’s daily Prompt:
https://wp.me/p3RSgb-wbQ

I intended to lounge today.
Soft blanket.
Slow coffee.
Zero ambition.
Maybe even loiter in the doorway of productivity,
just standing there,
pretending I might enter.
But life has a way of refusing long pauses.
Without warning —
I had to lunge.
Toward a responsibility.
Toward a ringing phone.
Toward the dog who decided chaos was a hobby.
It’s funny how quickly we move
from lounging to lunging.
From calm to sprint.
From “I deserve rest”
to “Apparently I’m needed.”
Still — there’s something human in it.
We loiter when we can.
We lounge when we must.
And when required —
we lunge with surprising grace.
Well… mostly grace 😄
