Slab
A slab is weight.
Stone cut from mountain.
Concrete poured and left to harden.
Something thick,
unmoving.
It can be foundation.
It can be barrier.
It can be marker.
Some days feel like slabs—
heavy across the chest,
pressed into the hours,
refusing to shift.
But a slab can also hold.
It can bear weight
so something else
does not collapse.
I have learned
that not all heaviness
is harm.
Sometimes what feels immovable
is simply
what keeps you standing.
