Freeze
Freeze is not always winter.
Sometimes it is the body
holding still
when it does not know
what comes next.
Sometimes it is the pause
between news and response,
between fear and breath.
I have frozen before—
in waiting rooms,
in long nights,
in moments when the future
felt too close.
But freeze is not the end.
It is a survival instinct.
A gathering.
A breath held
before movement returns.
Ice does not stay forever.
It shifts.
It melts.
It flows again.
And so do we.
