What’s your take on Panacea? Do you have one, you know, for anything? Poem, photo, painting, story — even song! — whatever cures your ills.

Panacea
They call it a panacea—
a cure-all.
One thing that fixes everything
if you just find it.
I don’t believe in that anymore.
Nothing heals everything.
Not love.
Not time.
Not medicine.
Not words.
Each wound asks for something different.
Some need rest.
Some need truth.
Some need to be felt
instead of solved.
I’ve learned to mistrust promises
that say this will make it all go away.
Healing isn’t erasure.
It’s adaptation.
What helps me isn’t a panacea.
It’s a collection of small mercies:
breath,
honesty,
writing,
being heard,
learning when to stop pushing.
If there is a cure,
it isn’t singular.
It’s listening closely
to what hurts
and answering that.
