Scenery

Scenery is more than what you see—
it’s what holds you
while you’re looking.

It’s the quiet agreement
between sky and land,
the way hills soften your thoughts
without asking anything in return.

Here, the scenery has changed.
Greener than memory allows,
gentler than expectation.
As if the island decided
to show another face
just for a while.

Scenery teaches presence.
You can’t rush it.
You can only stand still
long enough
to be included.

And sometimes,
the view outside
rearranges the view within.

That’s when scenery
becomes sanctuary.
