The Professionalism of Care

Being professional, to me, has less to do with polish and more to do with showing up honestly.
I’ve learned that real professionalism includes knowing your limits and respecting them.
I have a love-hate relationship with sugar, because it comforts me briefly and punishes me later.
Recently, I noticed how quiet the house becomes when my body needs rest more than routine.
That kind of silence teaches you things no handbook ever will.
I once thought pushing through illness was admirable, until my body completely disagreed.
The time I got really sick forced me to redefine strength as listening instead of enduring.
Now I believe being professional also means caring for the one doing the work.
