There’s always that one thing on the list.
Not because it’s unimportant — but because life keeps rearranging the order.

For me, it’s all the “when I have time” tasks.
Organising old photos.
Sorting paperwork properly.
Clearing that one drawer that somehow holds everything and nothing at once.

I write it down with good intentions.
Then a day happens.
A body flare-up.
A family need.
A creative moment that refuses to wait.

And suddenly, the unfinished thing stays unfinished — quietly moved to tomorrow.

I’ve learned that some to-do items aren’t failures.
They’re placeholders for a version of life that assumes energy is endless and days are predictable.

Mine aren’t.

So instead of crossing it out, I let it sit there.
Not undone — just not yet.
Because surviving, caring, creating, and loving still count as getting things done.

Some tasks wait.
Life doesn’t.
