DailyPrompt–1836
What’s your favorite thing to cook?
Dailyprompt-1836

Food, for me, has always been about more than eating.
It’s comfort. It’s care. It’s love served quietly.
My favorite thing to cook is Greek moussaka, made with potatoes, a good fresh salad on the side, and warm, freshly baked bread. There’s something deeply grounding about preparing it — the layering, the patience, the familiar smells filling the kitchen. It feels like home, even when home has changed shape over the years.
My second favorite would be oven-baked salmon, served simply with potatoes and raw carrot. Nothing fancy, just honest food that nourishes the body without asking too much of it.
Cooking these meals slows me down. It brings me into the moment. On days when words are heavy or life feels uncertain, cooking is one of the quiet ways I still know how to say I care.
Sometimes love doesn’t need explaining.
Sometimes it just needs feeding.
