In response to Thursday inspiration:

I can’t drive 55 —
not because I’m reckless,
but because life was never meant to crawl.
Some roads beg for caution.
Others hum beneath your feet,
engine loud, heart louder,
rules blurring into suggestions.
“I Can’t Drive 55” isn’t about speed —
it’s about refusal.
Refusing to shrink.
Refusing to live measured in limits
set by someone who never felt the rush.
Maybe it’s crazy.
Maybe it’s loud.
Maybe it’s freedom with a cracked windshield
and a grin you can’t explain.
But some of us were born
with our foot already pressing down —
not to escape life,
but to feel it.
