Flight

My thoughts go straight to the eagles.

Not the frantic flapping,
not the escape—
but the knowing.

Eagles don’t fly inside the storm.
They rise above it,
using the very force meant to break them
to lift higher.

Flight, to me, is not running away.
It is perspective.
It is trusting the wings you’ve grown
through weather you never asked for.

The storm still exists below—
thunder, chaos, noise—
but the eagle chooses altitude
over exhaustion.

This is the kind of flight I believe in now.
Not avoidance,
but mastery.
Not fear,
but lift.

Some of us were never meant to battle storms head-on.
We were meant to rise,
circle,
and wait for the calm
that always comes.
