Noticing the Pattern
It’s fine, of course,
to say you’re only passing through,
but I’ve seen this pattern before—
since the beginning, really.
I prefer honesty dressed plainly,
no borrowed outfit of certainty,
no pretending the sky isn’t blue
right there in front of us.
We walk like twins
mirrored in doubt and hope,
asking softly, please,
tell me this isn’t just habit.
And then—
the surprise:
we’re still here,
still choosing,
still becoming.
