In response to Fandango’s One-Word Challenge: https://mymindmappings.com/
Today’s word: Remit
Remit

I didn’t know this word.
So I sat with it.
Listened.
Remit means
to send back,
to release,
to forgive a debt,
to lay something down
that was never meant
to be carried forever.
And suddenly,
I knew it by heart.
We all carry things
that are overdue—
old guilt, borrowed blame,
expectations we never agreed to.
To remit
is not to forget.
It is to loosen the grip.
To say: this no longer owns me.
Some burdens are not healed
by holding tighter,
but by returning them
to where they belong.
Today,
I choose to remit
what was never mine to keep.
