Todays word–Reverse
Reverse
It’s what the sea teaches you on an island:
one moment the tide is taking, the next it’s returning—
as if the ocean has second thoughts.
Reverse is the undo button I wish life came with.
For the texts I sent too fast.
For the days I stayed silent when my heart was loud.
For the bridges I burned just to feel warm for a minute.
But some things shouldn’t be reversed.
Not the love that made you braver.
Not the lessons that made you kinder.
Not the music that carried you through the rooms you thought you’d never survive.
So today I’m reversing something small, on purpose:
I turn back toward myself.
I soften the inner voice.
I rewind the story I tell in my head—
until it sounds like compassion.
Because maybe “reverse” isn’t going back.
Maybe it’s finally choosing a different direction.
