Word: Rubbish

Rubbish

I’m getting better at recognising rubbish.

Not just the kind that fills bins,
but the kind that sneaks into thoughts,
the stories that tell me I’m not enough,
that my voice is too much
or not worth hearing at all.

That’s rubbish.
So are the expectations that don’t fit,
the guilt that doesn’t belong to me,
and the noise that pretends to be truth.

I’m learning to take it out regularly—
mind, heart, life.

No ceremony.
No apology.
Some things aren’t meant to be recycled.
They’re meant to be released.

And honestly?
It feels lighter already.

What a lovely way to deal with those things – release implies freedom from which is very good. In my case, it’s to let go of overthinking.
